Mililani was originally developed in 1968 as an affordable upper middle class suburban residential neighborhood. Mililani Mauka, was developed nearly 20 years later and is more upscale.
Both are planned communities, designed to be family-friendly with many parks, shops, restaurants, walking/jogging paths and wide streets with sidewalks. Newcomers to Hawaii find these neighborhoods familiar because it reminds them of suburban communities "back home." on the U.S. mainland.
With an elevation from 700 feet to 1000 feet above sea level, the temperature can range from mid 60's to low 80's year around.
The proximity to Wheeler Army Air Field and Schofield Barracks makes this neighborhood popular with military families, civilians working for the U.S. military and investors looking to purchase properties to rent to military families.
Among the properties featured in Mililani and Mililani Mauka are Hampton Court, Mililani Pinnacle, Nohona at Mililani Mauka, Spruce Ridge Villa, Koolako, Heavens of ii Vistas and town homes located in the Launani Valley.
